Glacier in Pakistan

Glacier

Large, dense masses of ice called glaciers occur on land when snowfall is compacted in to the ice across a long period of time.

Siachen Glacier

On the questionable India-Pakistan border, Siachen Glacier is situated in the Himalayas east of the Karakoram Mountains at 35.5°N 77.0°E. It is the second-longest glacier on Earth outside of the polar regions and the longest in the Karakoram Mountains. Its starting altitude is 5,753 metres (18,875 feet) above sea level. A glacier called Siachen Glacier can be found in the Himalayan Karakoram Mountains. In addition, Siachen Glacier is the 2 glacier in the world outside the polar regions and the longest glacier in the Karakoram.

Its starting altitude is 5,753 metres (18,875 feet) above sea level.

It is situated at what is referred to as the "third pole" of the planet, a region of the Karakoram Mountains. The Siachen Glacier, which is situated south of the substantial outflow dividing the Eurasian plate from the Indian subcontinent, gave the region its name. The Siachen glacier system spans an area of around 700 square kilometres, which include all tributary glaciers.

Baltoro Glacier

The Baltoro Glacier, the second-largest glacier in the Himalayas, is found in the Baltistan region of Jammu and Kashmir on the southern slope of the Karakoram Focus Trail. The Sigal River, an Indus River tributary, originates from the glacier.

It is situated in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan province's Shigar district. A portion of the Karakoram Mountains are traversed. . Mount K2 is the highest mountain in the area with an elevation of 8,611 metres (28,251 feet), and there are 3,800 additional peaks within such a 20-kilometer range. The Conway saddle separates the Baltoro Glacier from the Siachen Glacier.

A tributary of the Sigal River, which is a tributary of the Indus, the glacier goes to the Braldo River. The main Bartolo Glacier is fed by a number of sizable tributary glaciers, such as the Goodwin-Austin glacier running from K2 in a southerly direction, the Abruzzi and numerous glaciers flowing from Gasherbrum summits, and the glacier streaming from Chogolisa. flowing from Masherbrum are the Yermandendu Glacier and the Vigne Glacier. The Concord Glacier, which connects the main Baltoro Glacier and the Goodwin-Austin Glacier, is a well-liked hiking location along with K2 Base Camp.

The channel of the glacier is broad. Where they meet the main glacier, little glaciers in valleys form glaciers. Sidewalls range from extremely steep to extremely steep. Fissures have been created in the nearby country's rock by glaciers.

Batura Glacier

The fourth-longest glacier on Earth is called Batura Glacier. Batura Glacier spans 58 kilometres in height and 290 square kilometres in total area. One of the tallest mountains outside of the polar regions on the planet is Batura Glacier, which is 35 miles long. Views of 14 peaks higher than 7000 metres, the majestic Batur "Divider," landmarks in the most gorgeous villages you'll ever see, and the typical Villa Yashpirt may be seen as you climb back and forth along the path.

With a height of roughly 57 kilometres, the Batura Glacier can be found in the middle of the photograph in the upper Hunza Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan.

The Batura Glacier's bottom portion is distinguished by a sea of grey boulders and stones (accumulation of rocks and sediments carried by the glacier, usually caused by avalanches). The glacier has an average thickness of 150 metres, and the majority of its bulk is located at its lower end.

The Karakoram Mountains' Batura Glacier, which is located north of Batura Muztagh, is a sub-chain that comprises the 25 tallest mountains on Earth, Batura Sar, at 7,795 metres above sea level, and Passu Sar, at 7,478 metres.
